The last stretch of the transversal route starts from Foiano della Chiana and arrives in the area called Sodo at the bottom of the hill of Cortona, in a very easy path of about 12 km immersed in the countryside of Arezzo. The route starts from the intersection with the "Sentiero della Bonifica", the ancient road used for the maintenance of the Canale Maestro della Chiana, which connects Arezzo to Chiusi, and which today is a pleasant nature trail suitable for everyone.

About 3 km north of this point is the Colmata di Brolio, the only work of this type still active in Valdichiana, which shows how the swamp-drying process worked: the waters coming from the hilly areas were channeled into the area to be restored , around which an embankment had been created. The canals deposited the transported solid material on the bottom of the fenced area, raising the ground, while the clear waters were discharged with the bottom spillway.

At the end of the stretch we meet the Etruscan archaeological site of “Melone del Sodo”, a complex of two mound tombs of considerable size, where there are tombs and a magnificent funerary altar. In this area the transversal section joins the longitudinal section of the path of the White Giant between Castiglion Fiorentino and Cortona. Moreover, at 3 km distance there is also the Camucia - Cortona railway station, a bike-train interchange hub of our route along the Rome-Florence railway line.
